About The Project
This packaging for a set of juggling balls was created for my Design & Media Studio III class. The prompt for this assignment was to create a product for my circus brand Owens Circus, which I had spent the whole semester developing. This project was to have custom box packaging and a label for the item inside. This project showcases an understanding of box construction, production, and planning.
Project Experience
This project took a decent amount of planning and relied on research and brand development I had created. I started the project off by creating mind maps to decide what product would work with my brand. I thought of juggling balls and knew it was the perfect fit. I took to my sketchbook and began developing design ideas for both the label and box while keeping in mind the product’s measurements, and my Victorian-esque branding style. After finding visual solutions to the design problems posed, I began creating the die cut for the package. Next was designing the packaging and creating the design of the label utilizing Adobe Illustrator and InDesign.

Project Outcome
I was very happy with how this project came together. Almost every panel of the packaging is functional and visually communicates what the product is and feels fun yet sophisticated with the Victorian style flourishes. This was a fun and successful project that showcased my understanding of packaging design and production.
